I enjoy sewing. It allows me to relax and be creative (most of the time, unless the machine jams or I have to rip stitches). I have been blessed with the opportunity to make things for others and my kids seem to never reap much benefit from it, so this year I have decided to take time to make things for them. I have done a couple of things for E so far and have a list of things for C. Here is my latest project. I just love it. I might make me one!

Random Things
This is a post about several topics I have been intending to blog about for a while so here they are in no particular order:
And this is were the random really comes in. I got an email a couple of weeks ago about foil and plastic wrap having locking sides so they don't pop out on you when you pull on the roll. The writer said he was in his 40's and never heard about it and was shocked to find them there. I too jumped up and went to my drawer of such items and low and behold it is true. I never knew such things on these boxes existed. I may just be oblivious but was thrilled to try it out! Works okay.

Award Winning Husband
Randon won an award from the Wing Commander at Tinker this morning for his work in maintaining and creating roads and runways at the base. It is an honor to receive the award and he had no idea he was to be recongized today.
Randon is a hard worker and I am so proud of him! It is amazing how God can time things just when you need a boost and this definately came at a time when work has been crazy and he needed a bit of a lift.
Great job! I am so proud of you!!!!

The Girl with Tall Hair
Mommy reassured her that she looked cute and gently lead her in. To the girl's amazement there were strange sights everywhere. Over there a cat with a tall hat, a thing one and thing two, a girl with a HUGE bow to show. And yet, her hair, so tall and silly, left her somewhat worried. When what, what is that, a twin, could it be? Yes, yes it is you see. For another girl, a very good friend, had chosen to wear her hair taller and resembled the little girl too. They both were Cindy Lou Who!
The girl then realized that mom was right, it was grand, it was quite a sight. It was okay to be silly for a day, to wear her hair tall and do it without shame. I like my hair tall, I like it like this. I will wear it with pride and not throw a fit. I will wear it to school and I will have lots of fun. I do like my hair like this you see, I love you mom, she said with glee.
She had lots of fun with her Dr. Seuss friends and the day was a success in schoolville land. They ate lots of green things and read several books, but the best of all was she was proud of her looks!

Going Green
tea that is:
This is my new favorite drink. I have loved hot tea for as long as I can remember, and when I went to England on several campaigns, believe me I was in tea heaven! Now my new fav is green tea. I have been skeptical about it for a while, fearing how it would taste, but let me tell you, this stuff is GREAT! Not only that, it is full of antioxidants, rumored to help with weight loss, and is great as ice tea too. Come over and sip some green tea with me. We will throw our pinkies in the air and have a grand time!
