Those Pearly Whites

Today Emily went to the dentist for the 1st time. She did GREAT!! I was nervous it could be a traumatic visit, but she thought it was fun. It helps there was TV in the ceiling to watch. She watched Mommy get her teeth cleaned and then she jumped right into the chair and had hers done too. What a big girl! Sorry I don't have a pic, I forgot my camera at home. I was so consumed with making sure we got through everything smoothly I didn't even think about the camera until the way home. Maybe Aunt Lisa will let us come by sometime and take a mock dental appt. photo.

On a more sobering note, othodontics has already begun. I was hoping for about another 7-10 yrs before that started, but she has a cross bite, her bottom teeth come over her top teeth. He said we need to check it out and get on top of it. They may not do anything for now, but we will get a game plan (and sounds like a savings plan) started. Oh well, I knew we would deal with an orthodontist at some point, just not this soon. I give Randon the credit for needing orthodontics. Ask him about "the chain" sometime. :-)

Thank you God for my Husband and Babies!

Yesterday I suffered from the horrible 24 hr. stomach bug that seems to have overtaken the city, or least almost everyone I know right now. It was NO fun! My wonderful hubby stayed home and took care of the kids and house yesterday. He did such a GREAT job!!! I am so blessed to have this man as my husband. I can't even begin to put into words how much I love this man! Not just because of yesterday but how he provides and cares for this family everyday!!! The kids had fun with dad. I could hear them through the monitor all day (since I was shut up in my room). I missed them so much! They were laughing and playing and reading books. All the things I seem to take for granted everyday. Last night I was feeling much better and helped put the kids to bed. At the end of their prayers Emily added on her own, and God, help Mommy to feel better. Through my tears I told her thank you and then thanked my God for giving me such a wonderful husband and two beautiful kids!!!! Pardon my sappy post, but I just had to share how blessed I am!

Jack O Lanterns

We made Jack O Lanterns with the kids last night. It was so much fun!!! They had the most fun seeing them lit up. We all picked out the faces, drew them on and cut them out. Neither one liked the gooey insides and didn't want to try cinnamon and sugar roasted pumpkin seeds, but Mom and Dad had a blast. I think they like pumpkins with candy inside the best!! Happy Halloween!!!!

Fun in Ozarks

We spent several days last week in Arkansas. We go every year to visit some craft shows, four wheel and just relax in the quite hillside of the Ozarks with family. We had a great time this year. Here are some pics from the trip.

Number 3

It is so hard to believe that almost three years ago I brought this beautiful, tiny baby girl home. She is still beautiful and tiny, but not a baby. She can carry on a conversation, go to the potty, and has to do everything herself. My how time flies! Here are pics of her parties on Saturday. Yes that is parties. I ran myself ragged Saturday with a friend party followed by a family party. Thanks so much to Summer who helped make the friend party so wonderful for both our girls!!!! Also to our family who made Emily's day very special!!! (but I don't think I'll do two the same day again)

Should We Be Concerned?

For all of you who know our family football ties, the picture below is concerning. Emily colored this Tuesday at Sonshine School. Needless to say I was shocked and wondered were we went wrong? Having an orange football, in a red football home is strange and confusing and we find ourselves wondering if this is a sign of things to come??? Don't get me wrong, we have no problem with the color orange itself, but when combined with the football, this is worrisome. I think this means we have more teaching to do. We like OSU, except the beginning of October when they play OU, but if this is for Texas, well, we have some serious discussions ahead of us. :-)

Emily's First Date

Emily had her first date last night. Disney's Princess on Ice is at the State Fair and her Daddy took her out to see it. She got dressed up for the occasion and had a wonderful time. Randon said she watched intently and he bought her a banner to commemorate the event. She fell asleep on the way home, but woke up to tell me about it and show me the pictures Daddy took. She was even sweet enough to get me a cinnamon roll before heading home. I think it was a very special night for them both!

Ready for a fun night with Dad!

This one is blurry, but you can tell she is enjoying the show!

She didn't want to miss a thing.

Coming home from a wonderful date with Dad.

Mexico Fun

Here are a few pics from our trip to Mexico at the end of July. We went to a quite town south of Playa and had an amazing 5th anniversary trip.

Country Kids

We went to Randon's great aunt's Sunday night for a family get together. It had been awhile since we had seen some of the family. We had a great time, and the kids love the ability to just run everywhere. Emily was taken with playing on the hay bales this time. The kids just love being around the tractors, cows, and hay. It like a vacation for them. I enjoy the slower pace too and the uninhibited view of stars. These two views of precious kids were priceless too!

In Case You Ever Wondered.....

Jesus is at Hobby Lobby. This week, while singing "Knock Knock, I heard Jesus knocking..." I came to the end of the song and sang "I was smart to let Him in my heart" when Emily interrupted and said, "No, No. Jesus is at Hobby Lobby." I really don't know why she thinks He is there, but she is convinced He is. So next time you are in Hobby Lobby, be on the lookout!

BTW... I will try to keep up better on my posts.

Mission Vienna

Our friends have been in Vienna one week. They have been in our constant thoughts and prayers during that time. It is somewhat hard to believe they are really there now. We have been praying and planning for their departure for three years. I know God will accomplish amazing things through them to impact Vienna and Europe. Please keep this Mission Team in your prayers as they impact God's kingdom!

Cadon's 1st Haircut

Cadon had his first haircut today. He was very good. He sat on a booster seat and ate Teddy Grahams while Ms. Linda cut his hair. He looks very sharp and more grown up. Mommy took several pictures and saved a hair clipping for his baby book. What a big boy!!!

The Big 1

Cadon turned 1 on April 26. I can't believe it. Time has sure flown by. It seems only a few days ago we brought him home from the hospital.
On April 28 we had the big party to celebrate. Family came to celebrate this handsome guy's first year. There was BBQ for lunch, presents, and most importantly, the cake. Cadon has enjoyed his first few taste of icing. At only 18lbs. though, the doctor said maybe he should enjoy a little more!!! If only we could all hear that. :-)
It was a fun day. Cadon has enjoyed playing with all his new toys, sitting next to Emily in his new chair, showing off his new clothes and reading his new books with Mommy and Daddy. Thank you to everyone who made this day very special for our special little man!!!

Western Day

Today is Western Day at Sonshine School. Emily was very excited about it and loves wearing her "cowgirl hat". I am sure the hat will be necessary in the future to check on the cows.

Thank You For the Park

Emily has started saying her own prayers at bed time. There is nothing sweeter or more heart warming than listening to your 2 1/2 year old

talk to her heavenly Father. Last night she thanked God for the park and the slide in her prayer. It made us grin, but then it reminded Randon and I that the little things are important to Emily and God too and he likes to be thanked for them. It amazes me how so caught up I get in things. Thank you God for the park and the slide and little girls with blonde curls and little boys with big smiles, in Jesus name, Amen. "...unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the
kingdom of heaven." Matt 18:3-4

Recent Pics

Easter was so cold that we didn't get to hunt eggs outdoors. They did however have loads of fun throwing plastic eggs around Nana's living room and putting them back in the basket. These pics are from March 31. We celebrated Sugars birthday (Randon's Grandmother) and got an early start on hunting eggs. It was a little warmer that day, so it all worked out well.

Here We Go!!!!

Well here we go. I thought this would be an easy way for our friends and family to keep up with what we do. Not that we lead the most exciting lives, but it will provide and easy way to keep in touch. We shall see how faithful I can be at blogging, I promise nothing.
