Our Everyday Love

Here are some things I love about my everyday life and can't imagine being without:

1. Waking up to my sweet babies crawling in bed with me and wanting to snuggle. And if I get up before they do, I have to go back and lay in bed to snuggle with them for at least 5 minutes when they get up.

2. Hearing them spontaneously saying "Mommy, I love you soooo much!" Melts my heart!

3. Putting them down at nap time, and though they don't sleep much anymore, hearing them giggle and play in their room.

4. Reading piles of books they carry out of their room. Making up voices for the characters and watching as Emily begins reading them with me!

5. Waking up Saturday and Sunday morning to my amazing husband by my side! I do not get up with him at 5am M-F, sorry honey. I also love the moment he walks in the door in the evening because my best friend is home!

6. Hearing my children pray.

7. Worshipping with my family. I love it when my children sing with us!

8. Playing, going to the park or running around the house playing "Get You".

9. Praying for my children and my husband.

10. Taking this moment to remember how much the Father has blessed me!!!!

I would love you to share your blessings!

A Storm's Fury

I have lived most of my life in Oklahoma, that said, yesterday I was ready to move. I have watched numerous tornadoes on TV, sat in a few closets and cellars, but never really been scared of anything happening, until yesterday. Yesterday afternoon, I huddled in a closet with my two precious babies with bike helmets on, covered in pillows and a quilt thinking the tornado was ripping our roof off. We lost electricity and my only connection to what was going on was my husband, still at work, calling my nearly dead phone telling me what was happening and hearing the news reports over the phone. It hit the neighborhood a mile south of us, but the wind was so strong and loud over us I thought it was in our neighborhood. I was praying intensely for our safety and my sweet girl started praying too, in the most calm precious voice that I know God moved her to help me stay calm as I smothered them with my body. We sang Jesus love me as I feared the worst.

And then it stopped. So suddenly. The wind was gone, the rain poured so hard I thought it was raining in our house and expected to leave the closet with damage to our home, but he saved us yesterday from disaster, and I cannot express how blessed I feel today. It's the stereotypical line, but I feel I cannot live today like I have lived the days before. I have to embrace every moment for I don't know when the end will be. That was my lesson yesterday, and that I need a cellar. :-)

I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, everyone who called or sent a text yesterday asking about our safety, making sure we were alright, and praying for our safety. You sustained me in a very anxious time. Your simple words and thoughts mean so much. I also want to thank my sister in law who feed us dinner when we didn't have electricity and recovering from our afternoon.

Please pray for those yesterday who suffered loss because of the tornadoes, especially those in Southern Oklahoma who lost a loved one. I know they need to be wrapped in the Father's love more than ever.

I am still experiencing some anxiety over yesterday. I don't want even a thunderstorm right now, but I know I serve an amazing God who can calm me and surround me with his love. He did it yesterday when I needed it most and I know He will help me the next few days.

What a big boy!

Cadon has turned his back on diapers and not looked back. He is enjoying his big boy underwear and did so well and learned so quickly to use the potty. I am so excited for him, but a little sad at the same time because we have said goodbye to the last bit of baby in him. On to bigger and better things!

Way to Go Cadon!
