Hashimoto

Sounds like a great Japanese destination or restaurant, but in actuality it is an auto immune disease I have officially been diagnosed with and suspected for a bit now. Basically my body developed antibodies that started attacking my thyroid which over time will slowly kill it off and in the meantime has caused hypothyroidism. I saw an endocrinologist yesterday who confirmed it and started me on medication which I will take for the rest of my life to make up for the lack of thyroid hormone production. It is very common and easily treated. I will be monitored closely the next few months to make sure they get my dosing right and then visit the Dr. every year for an evaluation.

I petition your prayers that the medication will work to bring me back to a normal level of energy and I will not have unwanted side affects that can be associated with hypothyroidism. We serve an amazing God and though this was not in my plans I know he has a purpose that he can use this for and I will trust in him to use my life for his glory!

Soup

If you love soup like I do and you love a quick, easy dinner, you should check out Sister Soups. I fell in love with this company last winter after going to Warr Eagle and buying their product. It has all the seasoning and dried ingrediants and you add the meat. It is great on those M&M nights (for my JSO friends) to feed your family or when you need a quick meal. Everything I have tried of theirs has been great! They are a Christian company that enjoys helping bring families back to the table. My family is dining on the above soup tonight!

Autumn

I love fall. It is the season I enjoy the most. The leaves changing, the smell of pumpkin (not the taste) and the crisp morning air. Soup, I love soup and fall makes that my dinner of choice. I love snuggling under my down comforter and cuddling with my man because it is chilly outside. I love on it Saturdays when my kids jump in bed with us to snuggle under the covers too. I love the anticipation of the holidays and eating a Thanksgiving meal with family! I love watching my kids play in the leaves and find the simplest joy in things that God made. It is like He is putting on a color display to remind me beauty exist after a hot Oklahoma summer. Thank you God for fall!!!! "For everything there is a season and purpose under heaven." Eccl 3:1

October Catch Up

October was a busy month!

Emily turned 4! (I also celebrated a birthday #31)
Our niece Kinzie was born. Welcome little one!
We were visited by Pirates (arrr matey!)
and Diva Witches
and we have fallen in love with ballet!
We also were finally able to move into our home! I really feel like Dorothy, "there's no place like home." Even though I love being wherever my family is, it is definitely a blessing to be in a house! (more pics of that to come later, still decorating!)
