Emily took tumbling this year. She had a great time and Saturday was the day to show off. Her perfomance was a hit and she enjoyed her few moments in the spotlight. I tried to upload to video, but it is too large and I am not sure how to compress it. We'll bring it to show the grandparents sometime!
When it comes to my children, time stands still and flies by at the same time. I remember precious moments like they were yesterday, but then I am also completely amazed when another birthday rolls around and they are another year older.
Cadon is 4. How did that happen? At the same time I shed a tear, I love watching him learn, grow and become the person God has planned for him to be. Cadon, you are the sweetest little boy. I love when you crawl up in my lap and snuggle, I love how you say "Mommy, Daddy, I love you". I love how you adore your sister. You have such a giving heart. I know God has great plans for you and I can't wait to help you grow into them!

Tractor Birthday with Family
Forget the snow, in my house spring is here. I enjoy working in my flower beds, picking our flowers, deciding how to lay it out and then watching them grow. This year I thought it would be neat and a money saver to start some of my plants from seeds. The kids helped me pick out some flowers, we planted them and two weeks later this is what we have. I am so excited. They are our "baby flowers" and we can't wait to plant them outside in a few weeks!
So, life may change just a bit around our household. Randon had surgery on his left knee yesterday and to make it simple, we found out he has damaged cartilage and worn it away in his knee. In order to prevent it from getting worse he needs to lower the impact on his knees. Instead of basketball, raquetball and other knee pounding exercises (that he loves) he needs to do more biking and swimming (which he enjoys). He can still water ski and hopefully snow ski, but just not as aggressively.
We went in expecting something different, per the MRI, but once they looked in the knee it changed everything. Now instead of crutches for 2-3 days, it is six weeks and just a bit of a lifestyle change. He is doing great post surgery. Not much pain and moving around well, so that is great news!
God is good and we know we will have fun this summer on the bikes and in the pool.

Sometimes my life is so easy, really most the time it is. So at times I forget I need to be molded by the Father. I love the analogy of the potter and the clay because I have made pottery before and I understand the process. It makes sense to me that sometimes the process is just smoothing things out, making it beautiful . At times though you can find an imperfection and you have to work to get it out, sometimes it even requires beating the clay back down and starting over.
I know God is constantly working on me, working on turning me into something beautiful. There are times though I feel the molding more. It is not just smoothing things out, it is working out an imperfection, something that cannot remain to have a solid, perfect piece. He's found an imperfection. I am feeling the molding right now, and though it makes life not as easy, I know it has a purpose and I will let him do it, because I want to be with him forever. I want to be a beautiful work of his art.
