On My Own

So, after almost six years of marriage, Randon has his first business trip that takes him away from home for a week. He leaves Sunday afternoon and comes back Friday. This will almost double the time we have been away from each other. If you have any advice on how to get through the week in the evening (when I am eagerly anticipating his arrival around 5) and be a single mom for a week, let me know!

For the Love of Chocolate

This boy loves chocolate. After Emily's Easter party at school last Thursday (which was not supposed to include chocolate) Cadon found a Milky Way bar in her Easter bag. I wasn't too worried, because I didn't think he could open it. Wrong. On the way to Target after school, he opened the wrapper and had it eaten before I got to a parking space. Do you think he was proud of that and enjoyed every last bite? Hide your chocolate when we come over!

Sesame Street Live

Thanks to Chellie, we got to see Sesame Street Live this morning. We surprised the kids by telling them last night and this morning Emily was ready to go! We had a lot of fun!!!! It so much fun to see your kids faces light up when they are excited. As soon as Elmo and Big Bird walked out they were mesmerized. It's not everyday you see your Sesame Street friends in person. Here are some pics we took.

A Good Friend and Where SisSis????

Yesterday morning, while Cadon was still asleep, Emily and I prepared to watch her favorite show on PBS "Super Readers". Lori, the host for the morning shows, asked just before it was about to start if you had a good friend. Emily nodded yes. Lori then asked, "what is your good friends name?" Emily, in her excited voice, says Cadon John. My heart melted at the friendship the two of them have! Actually I expected a girl name to be said, but was so excited myself that his was the name she thought of as her good friend. I know Cadon feels the same because the last couple of weeks when we drop off Emily at school, Cadon asks "where SisSis doe (go)?" When I say she is at school he replies, "otay (okay", doe dit SisSis (go get SisSis). It is so fun to watch them play (sometimes fight) and know they love each other so much!!!! I pray they will always be close and have fun together.

My Little Girl is growing up!

It was a big day for Emily yesterday. We have talked about it, shopped for it, and now she has it and is in love. A BIG GIRL BED! She was so excited as Daddy unloaded it and put it together. She was even excited to go to bed last night (WOW). She told me "I love this big girl bed, it the best big girl bed ever!" For me it was bittersweet. I am so excited that she loved it and she looks so cute in it, but I am sad because it is another goodbye to my baby girl. She can't be a baby forever, and I don't want her to be. I want for her to grow up, be excited about life and what it has for her and most of all to love her God. She is such a blessing!
