Fun in The City

We have had a fun week hanging out in the city. We have been to the zoo, the Omniplex, and the park. With school starting soon we are filling our days with lots of fun! I can't believe how much these kiddos have grown and all the things they can do. They amaze me daily. I love my life!

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM

This phrase has taken on new meaning since our trip to Dallas last month. For me it use to just be the theme song for Mazda, but now, after listening to a sermon by Seth, it is so much more.

My life has been busy for awhile. I have made it that way. By saying yes whenever someone needs something. Taking on too many tasks. In all the hustle and bustle I got used to life that way. The frantic rush to get everything done, life at warp speed (see June post for my insanity). I have lived this way so long I forgot how to just take things one day at a time. To see God's beauty in the simple things, because they were whizzing by me. I didn't know how to just sit and not do anything for a moment. I was so busy "doing" things for God I wasn't spending intimate time with him personally. I wasn't focusing on my family the way I wanted to, I was too busy.

I am working on this. I have said no lately. I make time to be with my kids without thinking about all the other stuff I could do. I am seeing God in ways I hadn't before. It is hard to shift your mindset and slow the accelerator of life down, but I am working on it. I don't want life to whiz by so fast I didn't enjoy the beauty because it a blur.

We serve an amazing God who puts reminders in our path, and Seth's sermon was that for me. God loves me so much that he died for me and wants me to enjoy what he has given me. I have learned it is okay to say no, because my mission field right now is my children. I love that place. I am relearning to live without rushing a break neck speeds. It has been hard, but I must say I am enjoying it!

Water Time

We spent Saturday with some friends from college. We had fun at a waterpark and then had a lunch cookout while our kids played together. It seems so crazy that just a few years ago we were getting together carefree with no kids and now between the three couples we have six kids with a seventh soon to make an appearance. (another couple, not us!)

It was a fun day, our kids enjoyed playing together and we caught up. We all live within driving distance, it just seems hard to get together. Hopefully we can do it more often!

Catch Up

Here is our fun filled July adventures:

We had VBS part 2 at Edmond cofc
can you sense the excitement!

Emily took swimming lessons and learned so much!

Cadon was a trooper. He only got to watch this year. He wanted in so bad, but was great at just cheering on "sis sis"

Emily got a medal for completing her lessons

Mommy and daughter pic. She is growing so fast. I get emotional thinking that next year she will go to pre-K. You are kidding right? NO! I need a support group for this.

We celebrated our 6th anniversary. We went to Dallas and Six Flags.

Oh, and did a little shopping.

Ate the fine cuisine the Frisco area has to offer.

Six years and two kids later can leave you feeling crazy sometimes, but I cannot imagine going through life without this man. I love him more everyday. He is my rock, my best friend, my spiritual partner, my blessing from God!

The kids enjoyed the delicacies of the Rain Forest Cafe. How cool is it to eat with an elephant right by your table.

Well, maybe not that great!

WE HAVE A ROOF AND WINDOWS! They are about to pull electrical lines and are working on the plumbing.

Welcome!

The kids love going to the house (we do too). They can run around their yard and explore the house.

A butterfly was flying around inside the house the last time we were there. I thought it was neat.

And last but not least, another emotional moment for mom. My baby is in a toddler bed. We converted his crib. I cried. He loves it and has done great. No roaming (knock on wood)!!! YEAH!

We hope you are having a fun summer too!!!

Conversation with Emily

Mommy: I have a baby shower to go this morning, would you like to come?

Emily: Sure, I will wear a dress. Mommy, I will just watch you because I don't want to get wet.

Mommy then explains about "present" showers.

I love my kiddos.

Fun and Crazy Times!

So things are at a breathable pace. Wednesday I officially got caught up on everything and feel like I have time to be a full time wife and mom again. It is my favorite job, so it is good to be back!

Here are some pics from June and we look forward to a fun filled July!!!
